LearnIT: Campus Initiatives

ITS LearnIT actively seeks to participate in campus initiatives. Technology affects many areas of campus life and work. We look for opportunities to connect technology with those areas by identifying events, trends, and other efforts on campus where IT training and education might further the initiative. If you are involved in a campus committee, task force, or other initiative, we invite you to talk with us about how we might help.

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

The campus now offers graduate students the opportunity to submit theses and dissertations electronically. LearnIT has been involved in this project since our creation during the ITS reorganization of fall 2004. You can view information about the project on the Graduate School's ETD Web site.

Chancellor's Learning and Development Policy

In December 2004, the chancellor announced a policy that will encourage learning for members of the campus community. "The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is strongly committed to a campus environment in which all members of the University community are encouraged to pursue opportunities for learning and professional growth . . ."

LearnIT workshops and other activities offer many options for employees and their managers to select professional development opportunities to encourage career-long learning. If you would like to talk to us about what LearnIT topics might be helpful to you, please contact us.
